| Main CPU : N2A03 (a 6502 with a few features removed) Sound CPU : Main CPU does sounds as well
 Video resoution : 256x240

Hardware Notes : Originally designed to retrofit into older Nintendo upright cabinets (Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Mario Bros. and Popeye), the PCB require the inverted voltages that these machines did as well.
Later 2 versions of dedicated dual/Vs. cabinets were made available allowing up to 4 players powered by a single motherboard.

PPU Video Chips : There were four versions of PPUs, each containing a different palette and each appearing to arrange colours completely randomly.
Most boards can be switched to a new game simply by swapping program ROMs, although if the correct PPU is not used the game will appear with incorrect colours..

Protection : Several later VS. games used a PPU to swap pairs of I/O registers and/or return data from normally unimplemented regions of memory, causing other games to fail to start.

 Emulators : MAME

This hardware is based on Nintendo Entertainment System / NES
